{2009 Grattitude #1}

I can't think of a better way to start out a new year than with a gratitude post, so in no particular order, today I am thankful for......
  • My health~ Last night ranked as one of the top days of December at least, and maybe all of 2008 for me! I FINALLY finished passing that terrible, awful, no good, rotten, giant kidney stone! Yep, 21 days since this little ordeal started and it's finally over.....Hallelujah! I feel so much better and am relived that I won't be making an appointment with the urologist anytime soon!

Not the best picture, I know, but it gives you an idea of the size....Giant!

  • Employment~ This is a stress for so many right now, and I feel blessed to be in the position we are in. Teaching will never be a high paying job, but it's stable and I'm thankful for that. I'm also thankful that for now, I can be home with my kiddos.
  • Little Debbie snack cakes~ MMMM Yum! You know the white cake ones with cream filling and white frosting that are shaped like hearts right now. So Lovein' um!
  • Our Grandparents~ What wonderful people! What great examples they are to me and my little family. They are truly a blessing, and unfortunately, one I take for granted far to often. When Derrick and I were first married, we had ten Grandparents, now that number has dwindled to three. How blessed we are to have such a great heritage!

I love this picture of my sweet Grandparents!

  • Friends, Food & Fun~ We had a few friends over last night for New Years Eve. We had every intention of playing games, but we got talking and laughing, and before we knew it, it was 2:00! Tonight we'll have company again, this time to plan a much needed get away for Derrick and I. Good friends are a blessing!
  • And last but not least.....Chair Rails in Carlie's Room~ It's been a L-O-N-G wait but they are UP thanks to my handy hubby!

Happy New Year to You All!

Monica,
So glad you are ok! Those Kidney stones are so bad...I know because my brother has had three different experiences with them. You are right when you said thank goodness for pain meds for those! Glad you are doing better! Also, I ran into your mom and dad in St. George...it was so fun to see them! Keep in touch, Julie

I just have to say that the pic of your kidney stone does NOT do it justice! I wish that everyone could see it as we all did, with all the major spikes and razor edges all over it, and it really WAS bigger than it looks in that pic. I am so glad that it is gone! Now hopefully the other 3 don't want to come out anytime soon :)

Yea, now I can stop worrying (at least for a minute or two). I can't even imagine how painful that would be. What a gal!
