Little Miss Sweet and Innocent, or NOT!?!?
Can you tell our first week of Sunbeams may not have gone so well? Really can't she just go to Nursery for another year? I've been worried about this day since I was put in the Primary Presidency, and I now know I had reason to worry! Really the day started off pretty well, she was excited to wear the beautiful new dress she got for Christmas (thanks Grandma Sheri) with the new bows Aunt Lis made for her hair, she was even excited to go to big girl Primary instead of Nursery. It all fell apart once we actually got to church. She refused to sit on her chair, unless I sat by her. When I actually tried to sit in my chair during opening exercises, she kept yelling "Mom, Mommy, I want you" then, "My want to sit by Kaylub, (Kaleb) or "My not want to sit by her" (the wonderfully patient Sunbeam teacher). She actually went to class and I had a blissful 30 minutes or so, but then came singing and sharing time. Of course I had to sit by her, and even that didn't help much. She went from leading the music, to very animatedly mouthing the words, ok, her own words, to songs. After that she was dancing and shaking her little bum, and then she was laying on the floor kicking, not happily, may I add. I think I only took her out three times? After it was finally all over, one of the Primary teachers informed me that it would be better if I just didn't come to junior sharing and singing time for the next little while! Yep, I definitely had reason to be worried. Needless to say, when Miss Carlie informed me before Sacrament (yes, we have sacrament last) that she just wanted to go home (not like I didn't), I happily ran her right home to her Daddy! Thankfully the boys had a much easier transition. Kaleb gets Aunt Lisa as a teacher, which he's happy about, and I'm hoping she still will be after a few weeks. Brock gets Brother and Sister DeWolf, who he said were fun when we got home today. There is no way next week could be worse, could it?

I'm sorry, I find it so funny to read this post! I thought this was how my day was going to be with Bryhn and I was shocked to say it did not, it was like she did not need me there= I went into Sunday School not knowing what to do. My baby has always wanted me and now she was ok! It was bitter sweet though but I am glad she did it. (she still has her binkie) I know terrible but she did it without her binkie and blankie. So proud! I have been in your shoes all to often, this will be one for the records and you will look back and be able to tell her what a little punk she was...
Those 3 year olds are such a blessing even when they are a challenge. I loved this post. She is so fiesty and will get far in life because of it. She holds her ground!
That's why they don't call me to Primary, but called Brian to teach Jacob and Thomas' class (that's a big long story). Now he teaches 11year olds this year, huh? It will get better as the year moves on and Carly gets used to the whole primary jist. The kids are so dang cute at that age. It makes for some good stories/blogging posts :)

We have problems in our primary with children who's Moms are the leaders because they want to be by Mom. It's exiting!
I remember many sunbeams like this.. She'll grow out of it before you know it. What a doll!

I'm sorry that happened. Like Ann said she will grow out of it. Better now than later. Oh the things I get to look forward too!! LOL!!
Well, where do I start. Elie started Sunbeams too, and the whole day went about like yours. The only difference is that I'm her teacher and not in the Presidency. It was a very hard day (coming from the teacher) because all the kids acted like that. Give it time-it will pass and she'll be excited to go. She will probably still want you to sit by her in sharing time though. There is another girl that is the exact same way with her mom who happens to be the music leader. Good luck!
And how cool that your sister is teaching. Jordan taught Trae for most of last year and he loved it.
I am dying reading this because I was there and it just reminds me of how cute she was (most of the time). The funniest of all was her mouthing the words during singing time, cause she didn't have a clue what she was mouthing, and it was like the wide open mouth just moving up and down. Too funny!
Man, that sucks! I am sorry. I totally feel your pain. I am in nursery right now, but I have specifically requested not to be in the same class with Peter. He ends up clinging to me and being naughty the entire time. He is much better when dad or mom isn't around. Good luck my friend!
Oh wow! This reminds me of a little bit like me when I was in Sunbeams. I wouldn’t stay by myself all the way up until 7yrs. old. My poor aunt Carolyn literally was in primary with me every Sunday and through it all or I would cry at the top of my lungs! And then I can remember when I turned 7...I got a really cool teacher who always brought a snack or a cool activity to do in class and I became a big girl and could totally handle this.
I wish I knew some really cool trick or something to offer up but I just can’t help but smile at that adorable face in the cute dress!

Yeah for sunbeams!! Gary and I just got released for teaching the sunbeams. It was one of those callings with a love hate relationship. I loved it when the kids were good, but there were other days. Good Luck!! She will get used to it.
Oh I definitely remember those times! You can probably remember them as well. I don't think Hannah ever sat in her seat. I remember a lot of the teachers laughing at me and how I (handled) the situation-which wasn't pretty. Good Luck! I love ya!

SO funny!! Don't feel too bad...let me be the FIRST to tell you that Carlie was NOT the ONLY 3 year old giving the Sunbeam teachers a run for their $...our ward has 4 Sunbeam classes and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them had atleast 3 little girlies shakin their booties at the front of the room, SEVERAL little boys crying for their mommies, a couple of roll on the grounders and THEN there was Allie...."Hey...LADY!!! I goota go poo-poo!!! Uhhh, NOW! Lady? I said I gotta poop! Did you hear me? Oh...heehee! Excuse me! I farted and said excuse me! Heehee! Oh! Poops comin! I think it's a hurting poop!" I think there MAY have been a contest to see exactly how MANY times she could say poop in 2 minutes... pretty sure she won! (My neighbor is in the presidency and brought her to me 3X during my Sunday School class. Yeah...we're pretty proud! but I have to look on the bright side...she DID say "Excuse me!"
