{Preschool Craziness}

A day of craziness at Polka Dot Preschool.... well, crazy hair that is!

Carlie decided to go for little messy buns all over her cute little head!

(Check out that pose people! Do you think I may by any chance have a little DIVA on my hands?)Tylie opted for many tiny ponies! and I went for the flower garden look!

Fabulous, right? I know, it's awful and apparently I have no shame, throwing that picture out on the world wide web for all to see. But hey, my preschool kids thought it was great, and that's all that matters right?

By the way..... the rest of my cuties had some fantastic hair too, but I'm not sure if their parents would appreciate me sharing their cute faces with all y'all.

{All About Mom... Preschool Style}

At preschool Thursday we did a little survey about our moms to put in their cards. It was so cute to watch the kids really think about the questions and their answers were so adorable I just had to share some of them!
** How tall is Mommy?**
Most stretched their little arms out to about 2 feet
Really Tall
Taller than Daddy (hehe)

**How old is Mommy?**
7
5
Probably 40
I think hers 40
Like kind of old
8 maybe?

**What does mom like to wear?**
new clothes
a weddin' dress
skirts
a wedding dress
Temple clothes
shorts

**What does Mommy like to do?**
Go Work
Make Stuff
Run
Clean Up
Dishes in the sink
Wash Clothes

**My Mommy is special because?**
She makes us do everything she does
All of the sings (things).
Jesus sent her to us.
She is nice.
I love her.
She makes food.

How blessed I feel to have so many wonderful mothers in my life, they each play a different but still important role! My mom, Derrick's mom, Sheri, our many Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters and Sister-in-Laws, Cousins, Friends....my list could go on and on. Each of you teach me, inspire me, encourage me, but most importantly are great examples of LOVE!

I am thankful to be a mother to my three children. Though many of my days are long, trying and monotonous, I wouldn't trade them. I am blessed!

{Preschool Halloween Fun}

We just finished our preschool Halloween party and we had SO much fun! The kids were all adorable....I just love them all. We were sad that Tylie was sick and couldn't come, it seems like every time we do something fun, we are missing someone. Mom and Carlie right before school started.
(You can't really see my make-up, but I was ROCKIN' the silver shadow)
Miss Monica's Preschool Class
Aren't they all adorable?
Carlie had the treat today, so we made Ding Dong Spiders. I forgot until the last minute that I was going to use licorice ropes for the legs.
We had a bean bag toss with our Halloween print bean bags!
We made Ghosts from styrofoam cups! These are so fun..... you really should try it. We practiced last night and my kids loved it (ok, I did too....it's kind of addicting). All you have to do is draw your face on, obviously the kids all wanted me to do theirs. Then put them on a cookie sheet in your oven preheated to 350. Watch them, ours only took 2-3 min. You can leave them as is, or mold them a bit while they are still warm. We also poked a hole in the top so they could be hung up.
And last but not least a fun little Frankenstein to wish you a Happy Halloween!

{Today I Am Thankfull For....}

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.
~ Cicero
It's been too long since I've done a gratitude post, so without further ado, this week I'm thankful for.........
  • My Friend~ Ann and her cute kids came down and spent the weekend with us while our men were on the mountain hunting. I can't even tell you how much I needed that girl time. We chatted, went to a yard sale and the craft fair, drove around and took pictures, had some late night talks, had a yummy lunch at Cluff's, made New Moon invitations....we just had girl time. I can't even begin to tell you what an impact Ann has had on my life. She's been an example to me, she's a great listener, she is one of the most generous people I know.....she's everything I could ever ask for in a friend and more, and for that I am truly thankful.

  • Kaleb~ What a great kid he is! Sunday as Primary began, we realized that our prayer, scripture and both our talks were missing. Our Primary president asked for a volunteer for the prayer and scripture and after filling those spots, asked jokingly for a talk....Kaleb's hand shot right up. Without stopping to think about it, my little man stood up and bore the most sweet and sincere testimony full of hope and faith. Of course he made me cry (I do that a lot). I'm so thankful to be his mom, he has the most mischievous grin and sweet spirit, and well, he truly is a bright spot in my life!
  • A Clean Room~ I hate to admit this, but I am probably as bad or worse than my kids at keeping my room clean. In fact while Ann was here she practically begged to clean and organize my room (she enjoys it). No way was that happening! But, she motivated me (she says guilted me) to clean, and clean I did! Not only did I clean, I made a new lamp shade for Derrick's lamp. I've hated the shade on it, for well, as long as I've had it, I'm thinking 12 years?!?! Why did I not do something about it sooner? I'm not sure, but it looks MUCH better. Now I'm thinking I should maybe paint the gold black, or another color. What do you think?
  • Preschool~ Yep, I'm really enjoying it! I'm thankful for all of your encouragement.... I don't know if I would have done it otherwise. I may be biased, but I have the cutest class ever. They each have the funnest personalities. Last week we got to go on a field trip the Fire station, and had so much fun. I felt bad that our only little boy was sick and didn't get to come, because they were adorable!
  • The Library~ I ♥ the Library and the Bookmobile too. I love to read, and I could never afford to buy enough books to keep up with my little habit. In addition, I've spent much more time there lately, picking up books to use for preschool. What a great blessing that building full of books is!

And last but certainly not least.

  • My Dad~ It's his birthday today and I want him to know how much I love and respect him. He's not only a wonderful Dad, but a great Papa to my kids. He's kind and generous, a great example, and just an all around great guy!

{Miss Monica's Preschool}

to......Miss Monica's Preschool!
I feel like all I've done the last week, is preschool, preschool, preschool! I guess that's what I get for leaving it all to the last minute. I got everything finished in my room only hours before our little back to school night. Talk about cutting it close!?!? This is the view from the door. (yes, Ann, Misti & Tierra, that is hand sanitizer in the window... just sayin')
The play corner.
Our art wall.
At back to school night I had the mom's and kids paint their hands and make hand prints. Then today at our first class we read "The Kissing Hand" and added heart stickers, or kisses, to our hands.
Isn't our robot adorable? He has so much info on him....numbers, alphabet, colors, days of the week, months, shapes, even a clock!
All I can say for my first day is.....I made it through it! We had lots more play time than I had planned on and I was exhausted after that very long two hours, but I truly enjoyed it! All 6 of my kids right now are only 3 and this school stuff is new to all of us....we'll work out the kinks and then I'm sure a few more will pop up, but as long as we are all having fun, it's worth it!
And judging from that smile on her face, she's happy.....and that makes mama/teacher happy too!
