As most of you know my Carlie and her cousin Tylie have been dubbed the "Terrible Two". Well, in the last few weeks the Terrible Two have struck again, and again, and again. What are they up to now you ask? Emptying out their closets, and I mean E.M.P.T.Y. They not only take out all the toys, but every article of clothing comes off the hangers. I promise, we do watch them, this all takes place in less than 5 minutes. I honestly don't know what to do with these lil' darlins. See for yourself the destruction they cause.....
Not only do they make the messes, I have a really hard time getting Carlie to help me clean up. Everything in her room has a specific place, and she knows where everything goes. I wondered if that was part of the problem, so I tested her and when I gave her something and asked where it went, she definitely knew. The other problem I'm having is we change clothes a minimum of 6 times a day. Not a day goes by that she wears the same outfit all day. How do I stop that? Any ideas, help me please, I'm begging. Any and all advise is appreciated, heaven knows I need it.

12 nice, polite comments! (otherwise, don't bother!):
Sounds like we have twins and it doesn't seem to get any better for me!!! We clean Kate's room spotless and then by night it looks like the first few pictures you posted. Her room is next to mine and I think I might have to move it because it drives me NUTS!! As far as changing goes, I don't know what to tell you. My mom said I was the worst! I think sometimes we have to wait for them to outgrow things.
PS. There is a girl in my ward (Brenda Durrant (married last name) that knows you and knew where you lived. I guess she grew up near you. Small World
Thanks for you comments on my blog I finally added you to my list!
Well, when you figure it out, please let me know too!
Oh Monica, I wish I had brilliant advice but I don’t. Though I was never one to do the whole…pull everything out. I knew my mom would just make me clean it myself...I was the little prissy butt to do the whole, lets wear 5 outfits a day. My mom got fed up, just like you and started doing this really cute thing.
She made a big deal about going to a school supplies store and picking out a cute pink sticker chart. Making me feel this was such a big girl thing. She told me little girls were only aloud 2 outfits per day and reminded me of Cinderella.
One outfit then pajamas and only on special "ball” days could I wear and extra dress. With the chart, if I could succeed in being like Cinderella and one outfit/pjs, I would get a sticker a day and at the end of each week. A prize. I remember being just in awe that if Cinderella did this then it must be true. lol I remember being pretty good at this, not great, but it at least cut down on my outfit changes...well at least until my cousins would come over HAHA! Maybe this will help.
Sorry for the novel!!!
Honestly, I am waiting to see what Ann suggests! She seems to be the only one that masters this! -Suzanne
Wow! I am speachless!!!!
Holy Cow....I just, I would...I mean...I would kill her. Okay, maybe not kill....but..ahhh...I'd, well...Holy cow...speachless.
Oh, Monica. WOW! WOW! All of that in 5 min. Really??? That much damage in 5 min??? Really??
Oh, I am so sorry.
When Elie does this (and I can only imagine how bad it is with 2), I make her pay me a dollar to clean it up. She doesn't earn much money and she HATES to give it up.
I use this same tactic when she won't buckle up. I have to say that it's starting to work too. And just FYI, I haven't taken any money from her yet. I'm not that mean!
One kid makes the biggest messes in the smallest amount of time. No wonder why it was such a mess in 5 minutes. There were two of them.
I wish I had some advice but I need the advice also. Ayla already makes messes and I need to know how to teach her. I am thankful Ann puts little simple ways on how to teach you children on her blog.
Hang in there and I hope you get some good tips.
I have alot to share friend.
I'll either have to call you -- so there isn't a novel in your comments, or you'll have to wait a few days until life is kinda back to normal and I can leave you a novel... Love ya, Ann
She is too funny! Maybe just hide all of her clothes for a while so there's nothing else to choose from. Ya know, out of sight is out of mind. And maybe her idea of closing the door isn't the worst idea--hee! hee! Just kidding, I know all about how clutter around you makes your brain feel cluttered or something. Good luck!
I think the little girl in your last post gave you the answer...SHUT THE DOOR!!!!!!!
You can't. My girls are 6 and 9 and it only gets worse. Sorry. ha ha ha.
