{Date Night}

Fried Chicken, Extreme Combat Fights & WalMart with her man............what more could a girl ask for?

Yep, you read it right, Derrick and I got a sitter and doubled with Lis and Jer for a hot date night out to the fights in Richfield, Utah. A few kids form here have been training and some of our friends were going over to watch. I was pretty much joking when I asked Derrick if he wanted to go, and was surprised when he was all for it. We had a friend who was going over early pick up our tickets for us, and made a quick stop at KFC for some good-ole chicken, coleslaw and biscuits! I went in thinking I was going to have a blast people watchin' (one of the Beckstrand sisters favorite pastimes, and believe you me, we saw all kinds there) but, I seriously enjoyed the fights! Who woulda thunk it? There was some blood, but not excessive amounts. One guy broke a rib, but when the announcer stuck the mike in his face and asked him how he was doing as the EMT's checked him out, he said "I snapped a rib, but I'm cool man!?!" Lis and I have a bad habit of laughing at everything when we go out together, and last night was no exception, and you know, I truly needed a night out with some good laughs. I do have to say the good old Millard boys represented and did pretty well. Of course no trip out of town is complete without a stop at Walmart to finish the night off right! I'm thinking this will definitely not be the last time we make a date night out of the fights, and if that makes me a bit of a redneck, well so be it!

9 nice, polite comments! (otherwise, don't bother!):

Never ever say that you never learn something new about a person. Wow! what a night you must of had. Good laughs are so great and I am glad you had a good time. Your husband must think you are the greatest woman in the world to take him to that. Way to go Monica! - Suzanne

Never been to a fight-and don't know if I will. I just can't handle hitting and fighting, but thats just me. I know what you mean though by laughing at everything when your with someone. I do that alot.

I'm glad you had fun, and that you still want to go. Thanks for sharing.

Ya, I'm totally shocked too!
Where in the crap is this in Richfield? I guess we learn new things every day! :)

I love that you are so chic, yet such a tomboy! Derrick is lucky to have you...

Fun, Fun, Fun! I cannot picture you doing that! But, that is great! I am glad you had a good time. Todd would love that! I believe I am a true redneck as well. My favorite pastime on July 4th is the demolition derby in Delta!

LOL! The redneck comment had me rolling. The tittle in itself sounded redneck. You are too funny. I don't think you are a redneck though.

Is this professional fighting? The gym I go to sponsors a fight team--they're pretty serious dudes! I've always wondered how they fight. Maybe I'll have to watch one sometime.

You know, if you grow up in a small town, you're
automatically part redneck (some people think I have a redneck accent--whatever that is) Ha Ha

Who cares about a date with your husband? I'm more concerned about OUR date! What are you going to wear? I think I'm gonna wear black because it's slimming on me, and well, let's face it. I don't post a lot of pictures of myself for a reason. :)

I can't decide if I will do my hair curly or straight, and of course do I go with a lot of make-up and look like a hooker, or less and look like a desperate housewife? Hmmm. So many decisions, so little time.

Monica and Edward in the same night. Do you think I can handle it? You betcha! Less than 30 days Mo! ;)

LOL! Oh I love Megan and MO!

I have wanted to go to these for sometime. My brother-in-law usted to fight. Jim and I never got a chance to go watch him, but I heard they are pretty entertaining. It drove my father in law crazy. Harley did not think it was very good to have a member of the bishopric fighting. He ended up breaking his nose in a fight and had to have surgery so he was done. Glad you had a fun night out. They are so important:)
