I have found myself many times over the last week noticing things I am thankfull for and thinking, I should put that on my blog. So here goes my week 2 list......
A MUCH BELOVED PROPHET~ How lucky we are to have been led and loved by such a wonderful man. MY BFF ANN~ She makes me laugh (till I cry), listens to me vent & whine, calls just when I need her and is always there for me. I just wish she lived closer. RANDOM CHECKS IN THE MAIL~ Who dosn't love getting money in the mail that you weren't expecting? MY GIRLS~ Sky & Kels, you guys are GEMS & are 2 of my best friends. I love you and miss living next to you, you can visit anytime! Jamie and Cami, I love you too! LOWER INTEREST RATES~ we are refinancing our house today. Lower rate=Lower payment, Yea! IN-LAWS~ They raised a great son, and I love them for that, among other things. THE SNOW~ It's so pretty, and I love it as long as I can stay inside!
Like always, I could go on and on, but I have to save some for next week. I would love to hear what all of you are thankfull for!

What happened to my calm & predictable life?
What happened to my calm and for the most part, predictable life! Somehow in the last week, it just disappeared? Not that any of the things that have happened this past week have been bad, it just seems like a lot has happened all at once.
My favorite, (ok, only...but still, you know) sister won a week cruise to BERMUDA!! Yea for her, and yea for me, because she asked me to go with her, since her hubby is in Iraq. I'm so excited, this is way better that our regular girls weekends!
My mom's family is planing a trip to Yellowstone this summer, and I mean the WHOLE family. Aunt's, Uncles, cousins, cousin's kids...everyone! I am SO excited! We always have fun when we get together (which isn't enough), and if everyone comes we'll have around 33 kids and 36 adults! We've known about this for awhile, but my mom got our reservations this week, so now it's real.
And most overwhelming of all, I was called to be our ward girls camp leader today! I honestly thought when we were asked to come to the Bishops office last week, they had something for Derrick. I've been teaching Sunbeams (which I still get to do), and though it's crazy, I really like it! So, when they said, Monica and then girls camp in the SAME sentence, I just blankly stared? Paused (a loooooong pause) and went, "REALLY? Um, Ok?" And then I waited to hear who I would be helping with camp. The bishop kept talking, I was really only hearing parts of what he was saying, and then, "so I'll need 2 names from you before next Sunday." Wait......I'm in charge???? "But Bishop, I haven't been to camp since I went to camp, you know, like 15 years ago." Needless to say I walked out of the Bishops office in complete shock. I've gotten a bit more used to the idea, but still I'm overwhelmed.
I must say I am very lucky to have such a supportive husband. As crazy as all of this will be for me, he is going to get dumped on a lot, I'm afraid. But, he's just taken it all in stride and offered to help with whatever I need! What a lucky girl I am!
As you can see, it's been a crazy week! Our entire month of June is planned out now, with girls camp and Yellowstone and ATV jamboree and my brother-in-law coming home form Iraq, well, we are just going to be out of free days. I guess like the saying goes, keeping busy will help us stay out of trouble, right?
Oh hey, I'd love to hear what you're thinking....leave me comments, pretty please!

Things I am Thankfull For Today!
I've been thinking today about things I am thankful for, and I thought I'd share a few with you. I know some of them are silly, and I could list many, many more than this, but here goes!
BUNKO~ Every mom deserves a night out with the girls and this week I get 2....yea! A SUPPORTIVE HUBBY~ I've had a lot come up this week and Derrick has been so good to step-up, help-out and listen to me whine and stress! COKE/DIET COKE~ That sugar, and caffeine, and carbonation just makes my day better, even though it's not so good for me. MY SISTER~ She's not only my best friend and best babysitter, but a good listener and, oh yea, she's taking me to Bermuda with her! I'm just lucky to have her (even if she didn't take me on a trip)! A GOOD HAIRCUT~ Don't you just feel better when you've just had your haircut? Thanks Katy! PRAYER~ It's nice to know you always have someone to talk to that will listen no matter what. MY HOME~ I love it here and most days am content to just be home. AMERICAN IDOL~ I admit it, I'm an American idol junkie. REALLY CUTE KIDS~ I think my kids are super cute, and I am especially thankful for them at night when they are asleep and it is finally quiet. A NICE HOT BUBBLE BATH~ I love to take a bath and read in the tub at night. TO LIVE IN A FREE COUNTRY~ I think I've always been patriotic, but I've seen a more personal side of it all, since my brother-in-law has been in Iraq these past 7 months. We are truly blessed!
Like I said this list could be much, much longer. Maybe I'll try to make this a weekly thing on my blog? It seems like if I concentrate on all the many blessings that I have, I don't have time to think of all the things I wish I had and those things don't seem as important, to me.

I've been tagged by Ann!
I've been tagged by Ann! I guess I get to tell you 6 things that you probably don't know about me! It was harder to think of 6 secrets about me than I thought it would be? I guess I don't keep secrets very well (my own, I mean, if you tell me a secret, I can keep it).
1~ I HATE water on my face! I won't put my face into the shower, and I really don't like to go under the water at the pool, or the lake. The crazy thing is I LIKE the water, I love to be at the lake, by the lake, on the lake (in the boat), but IN the lake, not so much! When we went to Hawaii, I sat on the beach while everyone else went snorkeling. I really, really wanted to go, but as soon as my nose touched the water, no way! I'm trying to get over it, and really hope I can before Lisa and I head to Bermuda in March, but I'm not counting on it.
2~ I had a pet tarantula when I was about 10, that lived in an ice cream bucket in my room!?!?! WHAT on earth was I thinking, and what was my mom thinking? I'm not terrified of spiders, but I definitely don't like them. Oh, and just because I had one, doesn't mean my kids can too!
3~ I'm a truck girl, don't get me wrong I like cars, but give me a truck, SUV, or Jeep any day. I didn't grow up liking cars and trucks, I guess my husband must have taught me that. Every year we go to the Auto Expo, I usually complain about going, but I really do like it! My Hubby loves the Corvettes and this year the new Camaro, and they were beautiful. But, I was loving the four-door jeep and the H2, and the Cadillac Escalade.....Oh yea, I'm a truck girl!
4~ I won't eat avocados. Food should just not be that awful color of green and slimy! My husband says that in my world food doesn't taste, it is only about the texture! He's right, not that food doesn't taste, but I am really funny about texture. Even if it tastes good, I just can't get past some textures? I don't eat plain white bread because it's squishy and avocados because they are slimy!
5~ When I was 2 or so, I got an orange crayon stuck up my nose! I know every kids sticks something up his or her nose at sometime, but most don't have to have surgery to get it out! My mom took me to the Dr. and he said not to worry, it would melt. What? Well, it did partially (orange boogers were proof of that). But a month or so later, it was still there and they finally had to do surgery to get it out!
6~ I've never watched the original Star Wars movies. My boys love them and watch them, oh, probably once a week! But, for some reason, I've never seen them? I have seen the newest 3, mostly because my husband really wanted me to go with him, so I did. Maybe someday the boys will talk me into it, but for now I'm happily oblivious to the completion of the Star Wars saga!
So, there you have it, now you know more than you probably ever really wanted to know about me!

I finally did it!
Ok, so....after many "hints" from my BFF, Ann, that she really wanted to me to set up a blog, I finally did it! I'm hoping this will be a good place for all our family and friends to come and check in on us and also help me keep in touch with everyone, since I don't always do so well at that! I'm also thinking it can be a record of some of the things that we do as a family, since I am also a horrible journal keeper (I think my last entry was from, um, 2003?). I don't know how this will all work out, since my computer skills aren't all that up to date. I guess all I can do is try, right?
