What a Great Week!

Can I just tell you how nice it was to get away! Lisa and I had such a good time on our cruise to Bermuda. I definitely want to do another cruise soon, but this time with Derrick! I couldn't believe how cold it was when we got off the plane in New York. We definitely were NOT prepared for that. After we got on the boat and had the mandatory life boat drill with the lovely life vests, we were off. Can I just tell you, out boat was HUGE! I was excited that we got to see the Statue of Liberty as we left. I did get a bit sick on the trip over and back, but not too bad. The water was rougher than I expected.
The first day we were in Bermuda just happened to be the coldest day they had had the entire year,great, just great! The next day was nice and we took the ferry into Hamilton and just shopped and walked around.
The next day we went out on a Hartley's Helmet Dive. We were supposed to go the day before, but the water had been rough and stirred everything up so it got re-scheduled. I have to honestly say, I was excited when they called to say it was canceled the first day! For those of you who know me, you know I have, well, some water issues. I HATE water on my face and I get really freaked out to be under the water. So why, you ask would I sign up to do this, voluntarily? Well, Lisa loves the water and really wanted to go, so I promised her I would give it a shot.(it was the least I could do, since she took me on her free cruise). I was super glad I did it. The reef was so pretty and the fish were great. The helmet was perfect for me, I was under the water, but my face didn't get wet. I did have a few panicky moments, but I did it! I think that was my favorite part of the whole trip. After we did our dive we laid out on the top of the boat and of course, I got fried! Bermuda is deceptive....it was just overcast enough that I really didn't think I was getting burned. I should have known, I always get burned! One of the guys on the boat, James, was super nice. He told us the funniest stories about Bermuda and, well, he wasn't all that terrible to look at either!
I could really get used to living on a cruise ship. The food was great, ice cream bar anytime you want it, great service and someone to help with everything, yea, I could for sure get used to that. Our cabin steward left the cutest towel animals on our bed every night. The entertainment was good, but the best was Stampin' Up! karaoke superstar! I can't believe how good they all were. Our favorite was by far this kid named Nick....Hilarious! He had the best outfits, complete with spandex and everything. I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time.
We spent one afternoon in some caves, that had stalactites and stalagmites. They had water in the bottom that came from the ocean. The Bermudian people that we met were so nice, and super laid back. We stopped in the post office to buy stamps and ended up visiting with the lady there for a good 10 min. When we left she gave us a strip of stamps that had been laminated and made into a bookmark. I think that is my favorite souvenir that I brought back, mostly because she was so thoughtful. The water there was the most beautiful shade of turquoise blue. All the houses are painted bright colors....like, pink, turquoise, coral, yellow. The buses on the island are pink, and there are scooters everywhere! I know there is so much I'm forgetting. It was a great trip and I'm so glad my great sister invited me to go with her! We had such a good time together. Oh, and can I just say.....I have the best husband ever! He kept everything running smooth for 8 days, and the house was clean when I got home! Amazing!
I guess now I need to get back to real life! Carlie is ready to potty train, and I have girls camp to plan!

Bermuda Here We Come!

Are we crazy? I'm feeling like I am right now. Our flight leaves at midnight tonight, so we'll have to leave here at about 8 or so. I feel like there is stuff I need to do, but I can't figure out what, so here I sit at the computer? I feel like I'm loosing it...I went to the grocery store this morning to pick up a few things for Derrick. When I came out I glanced in the rear-view mirror and realized I had NO make-up on! I never leave my house without at least mascara. See scatterbrained! Anyway, wish us luck! Oh, and Derrick too...he probably needs it more than us!

It's KK's Birthday!

I can't believe my little man is 6 today! Kaleb is our little monkey, he climbs on everything (I'm glad his balance is so great). Kaleb is the best brother, he loves to play with Carlie, but Brock is his best buddy! Kaleb has the cutest little smile that can get him out of trouble on occasion. K loves to play game cube and watch anything Star Wars. He is such a fun boy and we feel lucky to have him as part of our family. He chose to have a little swimming party at the pool this afternoon. That worked out pretty well, since we got him a new life jacket for his birthday. He also got these Star Wars guys that he found when we were shopping. He wanted them so bad, so I snatched them up and went to pay. He was DEVASTATED when he looked again and they were gone. He was crying (which he doesn't do often) in the car and asking if I could look on the Internet for them. He was really excited to open them this morning! Happy Birthday big guy!

The Terrible Two Strike Again!

Today I had such great plans to accomplish so much. I'm watching my sisters two kids and I usually get a lot done when I have extras? The kids went downstairs to play and I was cleaning up my room and talking to a friend. Kaleb came up and said "Mom, you have GOT to see what Tylie and Carlie did! They got toothpaste everywhere!" For those of you who haven't read my blog, this happened once before at my sisters house on both the carpet and the walls! So I go down to check it out and there is toothpaste (lots of it) in my carpet and the girls each have a toothbrush and are scrubbing it into the carpet! It doesn't show up real good in the pictures, but take my word for it, there was A LOT!
Nice (OK, I hope you can sense the sarcasm). Well, as I start looking there are 5 separate spots like this, I only took a picture of one, so use your imaginations. I was the mean mommy and made them sit and watch me while I scrubbed and scrubbed!

This wasn't their first mess today either. Tylie took her messy diaper off this morning and well, that was a yucky mess. Plus, they got into my make-up too. That, thankfully wasn't too bad. I really do watch them, I swear I do!
Let's just say the "terrible two' are definitely living up to their name today!

Big Boy Toys!

Derrick has been wanting a new truck for quite awile now, and today was the day. I'm glad we found a full four door, there is SO much more room in the backseat for the kids and the carseats and all their stuff. I really don't know what he's going to do with his time now that he won't be looking on KSL and Auto Trader all the time. I guess he'll probably still look, but he's not going to have any money to buy anything. We havn't had a car payment in around 6 years, so I'm not super excited about that part of it. But, I am really excited for him. He works hard and he deserves it! The downside to all this is, the truck needs new tires and being the guy that he is, he figures as long as he's buying tires, he probably needs to get rims too? I really don't understand why that is, but I guess I am a girl (even though I am a truck girl).

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! It's been a busy few days for us. It's spring break right now for us, so we've been out of school since Wed. The ward had their Easter Egg hunt Wednesday, but they ended up having it in the church since it was windy. Kaleb and his cousin Bryson went with Gram and Papa to Thanksgiving Point for a early birthday trip on Friday. I forgot to get the pictures from my mom, but it looked like they had fun. Gram and Papa had their annual egg hunt on Saturday. Carlie found the grand prize egg that had $10 in it! The Easter bunny outdid himself this year and brought the kids 10 baby chicks (what was he thinking?) We've been wanting to get something farmish, so chickens it is I guess. It was chaos trying to get ready for church after all the Easter excitement. I'm thinking that next year the Easter bunny may come on Saturday? That way we could spend some time concentrating on what Easter is really all about. Brock gave a talk in Primary today about Jesus, and the Resurrection. He did such a good job, I was proud of him. We spent the afternoon riding four-wheelers with the Dearden's. We went out to some hieroglyphics, and then to a dormant volcano called Sugarloaf. The kids had fun rolling Easter eggs down the hill (something I had never done?). We brought the boys four-wheelers for them, but of course they wanted to ride with Grandma in the Ranger instead. I think Derrick rode their four-wheelers more than they did today? It really has been a nice break, but I am looking forward to Tuesday so I can start to catch up a bit!

Card Night

So, most of you know that I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I don't do many parties, just because I hate to bug people about it. Anyway, the one thing I really do like doing is a card night. I really try, (notice I said TRY) to have one every 6 weeks or so, but lately it's been significantly less often than that. I design 5 cards (I try to keep them simple, so we aren't there all night) and cut everything, all you have to do is come, stamp them & put them together, and of course enjoy a night out with the girls. We do 2 of each card, so you leave with 10 finished cards.


Anyway, I planned to do one here before my trip and of course put it off. My great friend, Emily, from Mona called me last week wanting to do one this week. I love it when she puts me on the spot like that, I'm much better at getting things done that way! Well, tonight was the night. It was nice to get out and see old friends (that's you Marilee, and Emily) and meet some new ones. I thought the cards were cute and I'd share! The one thing I have to learn is to prepare ahead of time. Yep, I was still cutting cards and putting everything together this afternoon. While I was doing that (and obviously not paying attention) Kaleb got down the markers,and then left them out. The "Terrible Two" (Carlie & her cousin Tylie) got them and painted my couch, oh, and Carlie painted her legs too! Thank heavens for microfiber couches. There is still one small spot that I need to work on, but not so bad, considering! I really should have taken a picture! Next time I'll be ready way ahead of time (yea right).
